Is Area Trading legit?

Based on our research we have to say that Area Trading is not legit. The reason for this conclusion is that it has been blacklisted by a financial regulator for providing unauthorized financial or investment services.

The warning about Area Trading

The financial regulator that has warned the public about Area Trading is the FCA, see the full alert HERE.

The FCA had this to say about Area Trading: This company is not authorized to provide its services in the United Kingdom.

Another financial regulator that warned against Area Trading is the FI in Sweden.

AFI says: As a broker, Area Trading is not authorized in any country.

Why this warning is important

Financial regulation is key to maintaining orderly markets. Every country has at least one independent regulator that oversees financial markets to ensure that customers of investment services are protected.

No regulation is perfect, but it provides at least basic protection to consumers. In the investment world, regulation often ensures that clients’ funds are segregated from the money of the company, that there is transparent pricing of traded assets, that the company is not in conflict of interests, etc.

Simply put, there are rules that investment companies have to follow and regulators make sure that they follow them.

In some countries, deposits with investment companies are even insured. This means that if the company, for example, a broker, goes bankrupt, clients still get their money back from an insurance fund.

For all the reasons mentioned above the risks with regulated companies are far smaller than with the ones that are not regulated. There are many, many more scams among unlicensed and unauthorized investment services.

Therefore, to stay on the safer side, it is always better to trade and invest only with regulated companies. Only with platforms that are licensed by regulators to provide the services they are offering.

You should educate yourself about financial regulation in your country and use only investment and other financial services that are authorized in your country by relevant authorities.

Is Area Trading a scam?

Area Trading being blacklisted by a financial regulator, namely by the FCA, does not necessarily mean that it is a scam. Unless it is explicitly said in the alert.

But it is important to know that every time there is a reason for a company to be placed on a warning list by a financial authority.

There must have been an impulse for the regulator to investigate Area Trading and conclude that the public must be warned about it. Like complaints from users or suspicion, for example. Most often it’s testimonials from users who have bad experience with the service and have to complain.

Some investment projects just overlook their duties as far as financial and investment laws are concerned, some are outright scams that just avoid regulation.

In this review, we report on the alert that the FCA published about Area Trading. So for a conclusion about whether it is a scam or not you can contact directly this financial authority.

They should be able to explain with more details why they published the warning. For example, if it was initiated by bad user experience or something else.

In our experience, to stay safe, it is better to avoid all companies and investment services that have been blacklisted by financial regulators.

You can also contact the national financial authority in your country and ask it about Area Trading to see what they have to say.

In conclusion about Area Trading

Area Trading has been the subject of a warning from the FCA, which is a financial regulator. So there is a problem with it, and that is why you’d better stay away from it.

If you have doubts about Area Trading, just ask a licensed investment advisor and/or the national financial authority in your country to get a professional opinion.

  1. I saw an advert on google re Martin Lewis demonstrating a successful trading on BBC Iplayer morning programme and how the system has proved profitable with good testimonies so I followed the link and it was Area Trading that responded. I signed up for £200.00 using my credit. It was the beginning of a nefarious activities by area trading. Their ANYDESK platform that enabled direct and remote access to customer computer is the most dangerous invention to directly and remotely clear customers accounts because after permission is obtained the system is not disconnected by Area trading and details of customer account are available to be exploited. They cleared two of my bank accounts leaving me 0.8 pence and £11.00 respectively. I was minding my own business when Benjamen Reeves called to say my portfolio has increased from £350.00 to over £13,000. 00 and that I was entitled to withdraw £10,000.00 “If you don’t believe me you can check out your account yourself” but it turned out to be a serious con. I was asked to deposit £5,000.00 in Wise transfer account as collateral to be returned to my account on successful transfer of the £10,000.00. I lost £2,100.00 .The encounter is too long to narrate suffice to say that £10,000.00 in my area trading account had gone with the wind, When they didn’t get more money from my account, Trevor Jones – employee of area trading was so angry – he placed a trojan horse on my computer and remotely wiped all my documents and photographs from my computer, then deactivated my account with area trading and Wise transfer. They are rude, wicked and heartless. They exist only to lie, steal and destroy lives.
    Be warned!!!

  4. hank you for your further email to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). You’ve asked if Area Trading Ltd and its other trading names are acting on behalf of Aream Advisors Ltd.

    Cloned firms

As outlined previously Aream Advisors Ltd is registered with the FCA.

Aream Advisors Ltd DOES NOT have Area Trading Ltd listed as a trading name.

We have a cloned firm warning for AreaTrading.

Scammers use the details of a genuine firm to suggest they represent the genuine and this is typically part of a scam.

If you deal with unauthorised firms like this you’ll have no access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if things go wrong. I think it’s important to let you know that unfortunately the FCA is unable to assist you in trying to retrieve your funds. There is also no form of compensation scheme for victims of scams in the UK and it’s often highly unlikely you’re able to recover your funds in such a situation.

    Your next steps

If you have not already done so, I’d urge you to use the contact we have provided for the genuine Aream Advisors Ltd to determine if this is the firm you’ve been dealing with.

    ActionFraud

We strongly believe that you’ve been dealing with a clone of Aream Advisors Ltd. You’re next steps are to report this to your own local police authority and to ActionFraud, as outlined previously.

  5. GRANVILLE D CLARKE

area trading was advertised on facebook with martin lewis endorsement..I dipped my toe in the market with £200 ..since had follow up calls from Johnathan Rogers a senior Financial advisor …showing me how it all works ..then offerring a 10 day guarentee deal that would make £2,500 minimum ..if i invested £3.700 -for 10 days for him to make the amount then return the £3.700 it to my account… leaving the £2.000 + for him to deal with ..I am not sure about this …can you advise.
